Welcome. This web site contains most of my nature photographs taken over the last 15 years. Many of my trips were with my wife Caroline or my brother Adam (his photos are here). More recently we have been joined by my nephew Orlando, who also designed our websites. His photos are here.
Equipment

(2003-2007) The oldest photos here were taken with a Canon G3 compact digital camera.

(2008-2011) I followed this with a Ricoh GX100, another compact camera.

(2012-2023) I then moved to a Sony A77 and A77 II DSLR cameras. These actually had a fixed semi-translucent mirror and an APS-C sized sensor. For bird photography I started with the Sony 70-300 mm lens then moved to the Sony 70-400 mm. I also used a Sony 24-50mm and Sigma 100mm macro lenses, but found swapping lenses awkward. For a while I tried carrying two bodies, but in the end opted for using a small Olympus TG-5 compact camera for wide angle shots.

(2023-) My latest camera is a mirrorless Sony A7 iv, which I use with a Sony 300mm f2.8 lens, usually with a ×2 or ×1.4 teleconverter. I find this combination a lot lighter than the Sony 200-600 mm lens I had before. I also use a Sony 70-200 mm f4 lens for semi-macro, a Sony 24-70 mm f2.8 as a standard lens and a Sony 14 mm f1.8 for wide angle.
